The charge, not on me, is criminal threatening. It was a road rage incident. The “victim” cut someone off and jumped out of the car and advanced, the driver passed a pistol to the back seat so they could focus on driving.
Gun wasn’t pointed at anyone. Wasn’t displayed aggressively. Cops and all parties agree on that.
Cop even said the incident was started by the “victim”.
The criminal threatening stems from the road rager seeing the gun.
Seems like a very weak case.

Better to have a lawyer deal with it.
The cop can say whatever he wants, but he either advised for charges or the local prosecutor filed based on the incident report (and possibly how much the victim complained). And since charges are filed most prosecutors look to get a win of some sort out of it.
I'd search for a lawyer based on the locale of the charges and where they'll be heard. If the story is true it's possibly something that can be negotiated away (inexpedient to prosecute) by a lawyer familiar with the pd and prosecutor involved.
