I was going through my ammo storage and "discovered" all this. Does it have any collector value or are there people looking for this stuff specifically? I have just been keeping it as "shtf" ammo. I heard it is not entirely non-corrosive and I don't have time for that.

28 boxes of the more orange box head stamped 311 over 91
11 boxes of yellow box head stamped 71 over 89
5 clips with ammo head stamped 364 over 75

thinking you're sitting on a gold mine and gonna get rich fast? [laugh] don't know the value of norinco ammo but i just gave a guy 2500 rds of their .223 cause he liked to shoot it out of his old colt ar rifle when he shot those military matches. he was devastated when they had to stop importing it back in the day. i'm just a nice guy, or so i've been told.

The reason that ammunition got banned from import is due to the steel core. You used to pay about 8 cents apiece delivered in the mid 80's. Prior to that floodgate, I was paying 25 cents each? for Cheetah from South Africa, then 20 cents each? for PMC. Thank Olympia Arms for the ban. Despite large incentives from many sources not to do so, they produced a very small lot of PISTOL AK's that took the round. Back then there was much paranoia about handgun rounds that could penetrate vests, hence the ban. These days, that Chinese steel core is purportedly worth about 50 cents each. I sure hope so as I'm doing my first gun show tomorrow at the Bektash Shrine Center, 189 Pembroke Road, Concord N.H., 9AM-4PM and have almost 2,000 rounds to sell.

Whenever I see an add with "vintage", I read that as "high-priced".
Beats me as to true value on that ammo, but I'd think 25¢ a round would be a starting point.
Ammoseek doesn't even have a listing for Norinco 7.62x39mm, so maybe there is a scarcity factor to be had...?

Norinco was banned in 1993 over some trade deal..... you know when we didnt like to do business with commie socialist..
Could you imagine chinese ammo again. In 1990 I think I paid .05 per round for 762x39 and you could get a case discount to boot!

Fat cat in Bridgewater has that same ammo for 10 bucks a box. I had a shitload but traded it. It can fetch a little more than average on Gunbroker but then you have to ship it.

Yeah that would be great. The .gov did that purposefully to keep people from stokpiling ammo on the cheap is my opinion.

I,don't know the details. If .gov wanted us to not have affordable ammo they would ban import altogether. Then they would take control over the current US depot's being leased out to companies like ATK.

Give them time...

Actually, I'm surprised that the US hasn't moved all ammunition-related manufacturing to another country. China, Turkey or some other friendly country would love to produce for us, I'm sure. I'm sure that's on our emperor's "to do" list...
