I was thinking of getting one of these as a BUG or a pocket pistol for when I'm at work. Anyone have one of these? Any thoughts/opinions? I heard they are reliable and well made. Any help would be awesome.

You're talking about the mini revolver correct? IMHO they're more of a novelty item than an good choice for a pocket gun. They're awkward to cock for each shot, and if you actually had to use it in a sudden life or death situation, I'd bet anything you'd fumble trying to get off a couple shots of .22lr or .22WMR.

What about a NAA Guardian .32 or .380? I have the .32 and although I never carry it anymore, its a very reliable little BUG.

I had one for a while. They're actually not that hard to cock for each shot if you pratice. Also, if you pratice you can expect a reasonable group - for a close range defensive gun. While the choice of a more effective caliber is wise there's always the saying...

A .22 in the hand is better than a .45 in the safe.

Get. Enjoy. I want another. [smile]

I basically want something I can throw in my pocket at work without having to worry about if my iwb is showing. It seemed like it was small enough too. I am looking to spend about 250-300. Any other recommendations?

I have Dennis' old one. It's a fun little toy, and I'd never want to to have to use it defensively, but I'd still hate to get shot by it. If you do get one, though, make sure it shoots straight. I was wondering why I couldn't seem to hit anything and kept going closer and closer to the target... and discovered that at about 10 feet, it shot like 6" left of point of aim. NAA is fixing it for free...

For that kind of money, I'd say a Beretta 21a in .22 is about all you're going to find in the way of a small pocket pistol in this state.

I have seen the beretta as well. It was what I was thinking of getting before the NAA one. I'm still pretty unsure what I want though. All I've seen is the NAA one for about 400 in shops. I'm trying to find one used.

Ooooh I LOVE pocket guns!

I have one in 22lr with the folding grip like this:

They are very well made little guns, however they take some practice to shoot well. I also have a Beretta Minx in .22 short wich is an incredible little gun, it is extremely small and I can shoot it great out to about 50 yards. I also have a Keltec P3at, Ruger LCP and 2 Smith 642's I can strongly reccomend all of these guns!

i have 3,the .22 shot which is TINY,a freedom arms in .22 mag,and the naa black widow.love all three and trust all 3 to work when i need them to

I have the NAA .22 WMR. I have had it for years. It is very well made, and will save your life if used in the emergency it was intended for. Never fails to go BANG. If the bullet doesn't stop your attacker, the noise sure will.

On a somber note, it's the very gun that Trooper Mark Coates was killed with, it will stop & kill a man with the right shot.

It sounds like you're pretty casual about carrying. If you make a serious commitment to it, concealing something more serious gets a lot easier.

Corporal Coates was able to force the man off of him and return fire, striking the suspect five times in the chest with his .357 caliber revolver.

And the P.O.S. still survived to stand trial. Seriously? Who takes 5 .357's in the chest and lives?

+1, what he said...

additionally, all this other talk about look at this or that .25/.32/.380 ect. While all may be fine firearms, none are this small, this gun can be concealed anywhere...

I posted about it in this thread, there's some debate as to whether it was .38 or .357 in Coates's gun. There was a fairly recent police shooting where a suspect had 60-something GSW's before he was taken out of the fight; he survived but was left in a wheelchair. He sued because the pelvis shot that took him out of the fight also took him out of the running for Father's Day cards.

I think a 442/642 can be had for $400ish in MA? The airweights weigh less than 1 lbs and disappear into a pocket. 5 rounds of .38 +P will do you a lot better than a little .22 that looks hard to handle.

A friend of mine came to visit and showed me the NAA that your talking about then I showed him my 642 that I had in my shorts and surprised the heck out of him. He had 2 shot shells loaded and i thought that might be pushing it.
