I have a Para ord SSP 1911 and am looking to get adjustible target sights for it. I was doing some searching on the Para website and on google and could not find out if my gun has a bomar or a novak sight cut to it. If anybody has the answer it would be greatly appreciated.

Also does anybody have any recomendations on good set of target sights to get. I would like to keep it under $100.

Thanks,

Matt

i had an SSP. rear sight was a Novak cut.

i have a colt now, and cant figure out WHAT the hell i've got (oh well, it'll have to go out to get a rear sight fitted).

Bomar is out of business. The company was up for sale, but the price was not realistic for the annual amount of revenue it generated.

The best quality out there is the Infinity - http://www.sviguns.com/1101.php?indx=16. The web photo doesn't show it, but the linkage between the base is rock solid allowing no movement or "wiggle" when the sight is in position. Price is $135 (Rear signt only - Front Sight $24.16)

If you want "adequate" rather then "superb" quality, Champion sights (http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=341420) are a Chinese alternative for almost exactly half the price ($59.99).

Thou gettuth what thou payuth for, and both sites are priced according to their location on the quality scale. I may be biased since I've hung with all the dogs at the Infinity factory (literally - Pommeranian, Beagle, Goldens, Pit), but I've seen the components of the sites coming off the screw machine and EDM machines and am convinced the product is at the pointy part of the quality pyramid.

Check out Dawson Precision as well. I have their adjustable rears on my glocks and they work well. They seem to make rears for most common models / sight cuts.
