Anyone know about or are member of the Naugatuck Valley Pistol League in CT? I have tried to contact them through their web site but no luck.
Seems like a nice bunch and they are just 10 minutes away. I would like to get more info on this club.

Thanks!

VinS - I'm a member of NVPL. The league shoots at Concordia in Seymour on Wednesday nights. 50 feet indoor, .22 long rifle only or less. I'm actually getting ready to go tonight and just found this sight, I'll check back tomorrow and give you some more info.

NVPL Rifle Shoot Sunday

Vin - This Sunday starting at 12:30 and going to ??? (usually 5:00 -6:00) we have a rifle silhouette match that my brother and I are hosting at "Concordia". Concordia, the home of NVPL, is in Seymour, see link below for directions to Concordia. This match is part of NVPL but is also open to the public and we will have rifles, ammo, eye and ear protection available to new shooters in an effort to promote the sport. Entry fee is $5.00 per and there are different classes for open, peep, magnified scopes and even a class for kids. .22 LR is the max that can be shot at this 50' indoor range. This is a good event to check out the club if you are at all interested in joining. Silhouettes will include chicken, pig, turkey and ram. These are targets that we developed and are challenging enough for experienced shooters but still allow a beginner to get some on and leave with a sense of accomplishment. There is also a good chance that we will have some politicians there (they have come to past events), its good for us to stay in touch with them, let them know where we stand and that we stand together. Anyone reading this, please feel free to show up, it is open to the public. http://nvpl.selfip.net/directions.htm

Mike,

I really goofed up, got busy Friday and missed the message until this morning. Please let me know when the next public event will take place and I will do a better job of reading the Forum and my email.

Thanks again for the info.

Vin,

Too bad you didn't make it. That event wrapped up our "Winter silhouette rifle series". Another member hosts the "light rifle series" which had its last event on March 15. Currently, these rifles series are the events that are open to the public.

There is some good news though, my brother and I are talking about hosting a couple of Summer silhouette matches as the event participants were disappointed that the next match wouldn't occur until September. I'll keep you informed on this but we probably won't do anything with it until June due to other commitments.

The Pistol League has two more matches for the Winter league, one tonight and another next Wednesday. These last two matches are going to be very hectic as we need to make up several "rain dates". I just know ahead of time that there wouldn't be sufficient time to show anyone the facilities and make proper introductions. But, knowing that, if you wanted to stop down you welcome.

There will be a "Summer 600 Pistol Series" open to members but others can be brought as a guest. This event will meet every other Wednesday evening and bullseye shoot for a 600 score. I don't have a starting date on that yet but will keep you informed on that. Also, if you wanted to stop down to check things out on a night or a Sunday when there is not an event, we could meet there and I could sign you in as a guest.

It is a great group of people to shoot with. Safety first but a laid back atmosphere. Some of the members hold events to help out local charities, community oriented. Honestly, I don't remember the cost to join but I think the Concordia is $75 for the first year and then goes down to $50? NVPL is $35? Each guest is allowed to come 3 times with members being allowed to bring in an unlimited amount of guests. Events open to the public are not included in these guest totals. I think I covered everything and hope it makes sense. Let me know if you need clarification on anything.
