i recently bought a used mk 2,government target model, ss ,7 inch bull barrel. everything's fine but it has red eagle medallions and red eagle mags, its not the 50th anniversary edition. its possible that someone simply bought the red eagle grips and mags and swapped them. if so, why would someone do that? its a bit weird too that the serial # is higher than any listing on rugers website for a mk2, in fact it falls into the range of the mk3's.

prolly nothing but ive been a bit bored of late. guess ill call ruger, my ocd is killing me lol.

Late production MkII's were made with red background medallions. I have a late production MKII 5.5" Target with the red background medallions on the grips and magazines. These medallions continued into the MKIII's production.
Completely normal especially with your high serial number.

Yup. Alexander Sturm funded the startup company. Bill Ruger's first gun company failed under the weight of too much debt.

So when Ruger started his second company, he looked for and found an investor rather than a creditor. His goal was for the company to carry no debt. A corporate "tradition" that continues to this day. No debt.
