The umbrella was reportedly had a novelty handle fashioned like a handle of what is referred to as a ninja or samurai sword. A similar style of umbrella caused a false gunman alarm last spring at the Burlington Mall in Massachusetts. The mall was evacuated and a SWAT team was called in to address the incident.

Based on your comment about zooming in to take a better look, it might be worth considering the MGM Targets zoom lever - very nice for a very quick magnification change.We have Vortex Strike Eagles on half of them, but I hate the weight and reticle, so I'm transitioning us to Leupold VXRs
