A homeowner shot a burglar late Sunday in northwest Oklahoma City, and the man police think broke into the home was later arrested at a convenience store, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

The homeowner called police about 11:45 p.m. Sunday and said he confronted and shot a man who crawled through a dog door in his garage, Knight said. The homeowner said he was awakened by a noise the burglar made as he crawled into the home, so he armed himself with a pistol.

The homeowner came face-to-face with the man in his home soon thereafter.
