Picked up a little S&W 638 at FSGUNS on Sat, decided I wanted it for a carry gun. Took it to the range Sun morning...... And was bleeding after the 1st 2 shots! LOL no nothing bad...... just my grip I guess. I kept catching the side of my thumb on the cylinder release on recoil. So, my stupid newb question is...... how the F*&k do I shoot this and NOT bleed on my own gun. [rofl]

My guess is that you use a weak side thumb high grip. Try moving your weak hand (left?) thumb down a bit and see if that works.

dump the little factory grips and get a set of Pachmyer or Hogues.

I know it's a trade off between being able to conceal and control, but I have a set of both on my J frames and it makes all the difference in the world, especially if you have a J frame that shoots .357 loads.
