Family member has an old JC Higgins (Sears) 12 gauge pump shotgun that his dad bought around 1952. It worked perfectly well until around 20 years ago when his friend dropped it in the mud. They took it apart to clean it but upon re-assembly it now double feeds, it clearly wasn't put back together correctly.

Can anyone recommend some ways to fix this? The local gun shop says the gun isn't worth much anyway but he would like to get it back into proper working condition if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Call Larocca's gun smith in worcester if noone else can help you, or see if you can locate an owners manual and try disassembling and re-assembling correctly...

Could be a worn or busted shell latch.
Numrich/e-gunparts.com will probably have any parts you might need if you're comfortable working on it yourself. If not then +1 on Calling Mr. LaRocca.

VK,

Please post the Sears Model # and one of us can cross-reference it to the actual mfr/model # from the chart in the Blue Book. With that, you'll be able to find parts and either a schematic or user manual (hopefully).

Hi Len,

It's a model 20 - but I think he found what he needs thru the URL that Big Daddy provided.

If he didn't, well, he's now a registered user so he can ask his OWN questions! [smile]
