p320 x5 trigger in a smaller frame ........

so hypothetically, if i had a 320x5 which in on the roster as "formal target shooting" and the web site states
"The Formal Target Shooting Roster contains firearms that have been designated as being designed and sold only for formal target shooting competitions."

and i take that trigger and put it in a sub compact exchange kit and carry it.
am i 100% above the law to carry it?

the serial number is on the trigger unit.

You're fine because the roster only effects retail merchants and what they can transfer and not what a citizen can own.

There are far simpler and easier ways of getting a sub-compact 320, unless you WANT the full-size X-5 frame anyhow.

I already have the x5 I use in uspsa.
I am sure that i can buy a SC if i want to, but seeing that i can only shoot one at a time i am looking at a SC exchange kit for @ $350

The only thing you need to ask yourself is if you like the x5 trigger for carry. Its your personal preference.
Other than that there is not much you cant do.
