so i have a few P38s.. I pulled the RC CYQ out to play a few months back. it shot fine but got stuck in the back postion. i racked the slide a little and it was fine. I got home and looked at it again. i pulled the slide back and it jammed wiggled some but would not close. After pulling and pushing on it i tapped with a rubber hammer. it started to move . then i hit with rubber hammer.. now it's not moving barrels floating still but the back end might as well be welded. I put it away. and think for a while. maybe the catch on the side came out and is wedged. it looks like it might be.

I have an idea. let's pull out the matching non RC non import cyq and double check how the catch lines up on the side just to make sure i am looking at it right. I rack the slide and it IMMEDIATELY jams like the other one! WTF??? ok you tube, nothing... not gonna hit it with a hammer. Time for reinforcements.

first 2 pics are the RC. grips are off and magazine will release and come out, catch isnt needed at this puppy is stuck.

next 2 pics are the non import...grips on, catch can be manually set to hold it back. magazine will not come out and when you attempt to , the catch doesnt hold and the slide moves forward.

last pic is the non import with the grip off on one side. other side is stuck. i could have worked it but i haven't been batting well on this so i stepped back for any advice out there

SO short of go to a gunsmith, or give it to one of you guys cause they are both shitty pieces of crap... , i am looking for any helpful comments and next steps.

I have no idea how to help you out, but you did make me feel a whole lot better about myself FWIW [rofl][rofl][rofl]

Sell those POS to me I need some parts guns.

If your the inclined to do it yourself take as many parts off as you can with the grips removed. See if you can get the slide off.
Sounds like the lock is jammed. There’s a recess that the lock needs to drop into to get things moving correctly. Sorry for the non discript directions.

Post help on p38forum gunsmithing and troubleshooting section.

Common issue seems to be gunk but locked back is not common.

Gotta get me one of those cross hatched late cyq someday.
