My point is, humans are all animals. We are civilized but the moment that condition doesn't exist, we are all equal. We are all capable of horrific things. We are all capable of things we think ourselves too civilized to do.

We armed the Mujahadeen during the Soviet occupation and those arms ended up being used against us and other friendly countries eventually. We armed Iran, during the Shah, helped Saddam against Iran, so on and so forth. Our leadership never learns. It will end up biting us eventually. It's really heartbreaking that we, humans, do this to each other. Syria was a modern Arab country that is now being overrun by thugs and foreign terrorists. These pictures are no different than what our country will look like if/when revolution or civil war break out. I hope for our sake, and the world's, that it doesn't come to this. Our Civil War was bad enough, and we didn't have weapons anything like what we do now. Civilian's do the majority of suffering in ANY war. Dresden, London, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the American South are prime examples.
