Hi All,

Question for you. Going to be getting an SP1 lower( large hole), want to spruce her up and make a nice preban from her( the lower is not a collectible, has been used, but not abused).... Here are my questions, I am going to send to John at Remsport to have it reparked, a new LPK kit and a two stage trigger( probabaly an RRA since Gisselle is up there). What else would you do if you where me? Dont want to go crazy since I have to save up for a great upper and optics and BUIS, but want her to be nice!

Don't know if Remsport does it (or if it is even worth it for a semi) but you can look into having the front pivot (large hole) filled/drilled to standard mil spec (small hole) size. Lets you use and upper with no adapters/etc. Never heard of anyone doing it for a semi, but its a fairly common practice with regard to SP1 MG conversion guns...

I agree, if I were doing the build I would add a rifle length rail.

Although I came across this http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1642 it is a WOA 13.7" and they say they pin a KX3 to make it a legal 16". I don't know much about the KX3 and if pinning one is not cool, my rifles are to young for that cool stuff, but that sounds interesting to me. A 13" free float tube would come right to the back of the KX3 which I think would look BADASS, while lighting up the night with fireballs.

The front pivit pin on factory SP1's is larger than standard Mil Spec, so they won't take most uppers without a special offset pin. I assumed that is what you meant by "large pin" not the non standard firecontrol "large pins" found in later civilian colts...

Also if you're buiding an upper yourself Daniel Defense makes a nice flat-top upper with a large front hole and quick release pin you can use for your build. I used one for my 10.5" SBR build with my SP1 lower.
