Hi All,

So, I sent in a Glock 22 .40 for a full refurb with night sites in March. They called me and said the frame had a crack after final inspection and the frame rails where crushed? I have read in other posts that Glock has used a "new" frame and used the defective serial number????

So, Dana @ Glock told me that they can replace it with a pre 98 frame(Which they can not find right now for a G22) or replace it with a new ( pre 98) Glock of my choosing. So I gave him a list. I said I would take a G17,19,20,21,22,23,24 or a G30)

Anyone ever have this happen before? Very Interesing.....

Thanks,
Will

I still love my Glock's though! I am hoping they make it right. I was surprised that they took a "list" from me to see what else I wanted?

That is SOP for Glock in MA. It's been discussed here before. They never replace with the same S/N, not even in Free America. They have a prefix system for replacement parts (frame, barrel or slide . . . all of which are stamped with a S/N).

If the serial number on the replacement part has a single character (G-frame, S-slide, L-barrel) as the prefix before the digits, it was manufactured as a replacement part, otherwise it's a part cannibalized from what was originally a complete gun.

I had the same issue with my G26.

They refinished my slide, added night sites, replaced all internal springs, and gave me a new (pre-98) frame all for free. It took several months for them to source a replacement frame, but they did ship directly back to me.

Best customer service I have ever received from a manufacturer.

I'd go for the new frame as long as they'll be shipping it direct to you.

Glock is very conservative with regards to gun laws, and I would be willing to bet they are one of the many manufacturers who will ship only to an FFL even when doing an allowed "like model replacement". Also the "replace with different serial number" exemption to the FFL requirement applies only to the same model, not shipment of a different gun model as a replacement.
