Thanks M, I did post there as well. I figured I would try and get a well rounded opinion. It has sat in a box at the vets house since the end of the war. Truly out of the woodwork.

Wow, these are two nice rigs!
A ballpark figure from me won't help as I'm in a different market.
Grab them at the advice of the folks @Lugerforum.

Does the Luger show a unit mark on the front grip strap ?

What do you want to know?
Its a 1915 DWM (Mauser) 1915 (WWI) looks to be matching, except mag( correct term is magazines not "clips"), from whats showing, with an extra correct but not matching mag.Holster is WWII ,cant quite make out maker code buts is WWII.Does it have the loading tool in the pouch?

You looking for a fair price to give him? 14-1500 for the rig should be fair.

The second gun is a 1922 FN,looks to have been in that holster to long. Its pre occupation gun-can look up year if you want, and the holster is Nazi, can't make out the maker code but its war time ("42").
Would have to look up value but guess 500-600 for the rig, might be a bit low.

Total around $21-2200 should maker everyone happy and no one feel bad.
Hope that helps.

I didn't see a unit mark on the grip.

I was told a fair price was 800 - 1,000

There was no loading tool.

Thanks for everyone's help. I made an offer on that, a Hitler Youth knive, and 2 Gravity Knives. Waiting for the dust to settle on the estate and see if they accept.

I think there are some WaA (140 ?) marks on the l/h side of the slide.
The holster is a genuine Wehrmacht issue, possibly Luftwaffe. It is very similar
to the P.37 holster.

I was told by the vets family that he took this luger off a captured downed pilot. He was an older pilot, that might explain a WW1 luger with a WW2 holster.

That holster on the 1922 does look Luftwaffe, if ii has the Waffen that would be Heer.
Lots of guns got switched in holsters when they pulled them off pile in the center of towns or the ship ride back home (poker games),and where 98% of guns where "captured".Every one says off a SS or Officer,Or ...,and in reality they may have won it in a poker game or trade a bottle booze for it over there.Thats why the all matching with mags get such a premium-more of a chance of a real capture gun, then pulled off the pile (gun go here-mags in that pile, holsters over here..)

@800-1000 its a steal-really,that holster will bring 250 easy,the xtra mag 75-100,the luger is 1400-1500 all day long,as a rig it gets a bump up another couple c-notes .
Ask if he has the capture papers for it and be sure the firing pin is in it-not uncomon for someone to remove it.

I will give you 1000 cash for the rig if you want to flip it,no problem ! (Have a C&R as well)

Well good luck, hope you get it,it nice to get them right from the family or better yet from the Vet,especially of your a collector.

Be sure to check that firing pin, that would hurt the value,as would a poor bore. That might not be a 9mm too, being a Wiemer era Luger it could be 30 luger.

Let me know if you get it,even if you don't want to flip it,happy to do some more research and could recommend two books

Weimer Lugers By Jan Still (all his books are great and better investments then the guns!)
Lugers At Random by Kenyan is not bad ,long out of print but you can find it on fleabay

[STRIKE]Did anyone else notice that the number on the Luger takedown level was not matching the other S/Ns on the gun?[/STRIKE]

Very nice finds [STRIKE]regardless[/STRIKE].

Good luck.

ETA: Bad eyesight reviewing pic, sorry.
