Hi. I'm in my early 40's now, and oddly enough I've been bitten by the bug and think I should carry a 1911 more often.

Would you please recommend some left handed holsters which will accommodate a rail? Think MEU SOC / Colt 45A1 type. MEU(SOC) pistol - Wikipedia

I've been looking around seriously for the past several days, after poking a bit here and there since late fall - but it is time for me to get something, or get off the crapper.

Thanks all!

i would join 1911 addicts and watch the classifieds there for a nice leather one. many good makers out there. TT gunleather, milt sparks, ronin leather, nightingale leather, palmetto leather, etc. can have one custom made or check holsters in stock.

Oh ya forty? Lefty? Forty? What's this all about a lefty forty? Don't know the guy. Never seen em. Wise guy don't keep a piece like dat. Fuhgeddaboudit.

Have you looked on google for left handed 1911 holsters?
.....

Yes. The biggest challenge was trying to restrict results to a holsters which would handle a partial rail. Even with the negative operator, I was getting too much drek, irrespective of ads and just flat out shit - floppy nylon POS "universal" holsters with every keyword under the sun salted in.

I'm also looking for particular models which people have used, and recommend; experience matters. To be honest, I stopped carrying my glocks 90% of the time about 3 years ago, in favor of a S&W Shield.

QVO Holsters. Best holsters i've ever used. They're made to order, so don't expect it tomorrow, but turnaround time is about 3 weeks. Such a broad range of options for your holster, too.
