Another failure of victim selection

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Police say a teenager who was attempting a robbery was shot and killed by a person carrying a concealed weapon.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 7:42 p.m., Tuesday, officers were called to the E&E Market in the 700 block of E. Hudson Street on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital where he later died.

Police say the 18-year-old pulled a gun in an attempt to rob a 33-year-old man but the man, who is a CCW permit holder, took out his own gun and shot the 18-year-old dead.

The man, who police have not named, remained on the scene and waited for officers to arrive.

According to police, a 17-year-old boy who was with the 18-year-old during the robbery has been arrested and charged with murder.

What are the chances that the 17yo accomplice learned a valuable lesson that day?
I doubt it. He will stew in a juvenile facility until he is 18 plotting the revenge of the CCW holder.

Dems will use it as another cry for gun control.

Nobody learns anything and the dems keep pushing their agenda.

"He was only 18". "Too young". "Armed robbery shouldn't be a death sentence"....

I've heard it all before.

they attempt to victimize us, they lose and we still pay the effing price...

Wow! Media getting lazy.
Why does it not say

"Police: 18-year-old BLACK shot dead by WHITE CCW holder during robbery attempt in Columbus"

Tragic for this young boy.

It wasn't even a robbery.

It was an attempt.

The boy did not even rob the man!

Yet, he was murdered anyway.

Bold is mine:

Robbery attempt brings Columbus' 12th homicide in 12 days (dispatch.com)

A teenager was killed and another teen arrested after an attempted robbery in North Linden resulted in the 12th homicide in 12 days in Columbus.

Police were called at about 7:25 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a shooting at the E&E Market on the 700 block of East Hudson Street, just east of Interstate 71.

When officers arrived, they found 18-year-old Kiran Hill, of the East Side, with a gunshot wound. Hill was taken in critical condition to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he died at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers also found a 33-year-old man at the scene who told officers that Hill and 17-year-old Josiah Cocroft, of the Southeast Side, had attempted to rob him outside the market.

The man, a licensed concealed carry permit holder whose name police are withholding, told officers that Hill pulled a firearm and he pulled his and they exchanged gunfire. Hill was mortally wounded. The man remained at the scene with Cocroft until police arrived.
