Polymer cartridges, Anyone?

Anyone seen the news about Extreme Polymer Research's development of polymer handgun cartridge cases?

That polymers don't corrode comes to mind, and they may or may not be (depending on their composition) be more thermally stable from an expansion/contraction perspective than metals.

Any thoughts?

I agree with the second commenter. Given all the ups and downs those making rifle rounds went through I will give it a couple years and see how it is going.

I tried out something similar in .223 a few years back. Not impressed. Might work in lower pressure pistol cases. Time will only tell.

The article makes the point that they are only doing low-pressure, non-necked handgun cartridges because of the challenges. It was a new thing to me, and I'm intrigued...and watching to see how it goes.

Another example of some brainiac trying to fix something that ain't broken and ends up breaking it in the process... caseless ammo is another example.
