Thanks to the generosity of NESr "Brewer" who gifted me his unused stash of .32acp, I took my PPk to the range to sample a variety of dishes; er ammo. Each type was fired once at 22 feet, in a 7+1 configuration for 8 rounds each or 56 total. Some ammo didn't perform well in terms of double taps...I had the impressions that he had these in the gun safe for quite a while. Ammo pics are in the order/number of the target.

Tried seven different types. The first and last targets were my own brand of carry ammo; PPU 71gr JHP, which I was pleased to see shot the best and had no issues whatsoever - something critical in your brand of carry ammo. Other types didn't do as well. Note the rather pointed bullet of the PPU....the older .32s were designed for ball ammo and don't work well usually with SWC or blunt JHP, or steel casings. I've found this the best carry ammo for all 4 of my .32s: 1915 Imperial proofed M14 Mauser, 1939 Walther PPk commercial, 1920 M03 Colt, and a 1943 Army proof Mauser HSc.

1. PPU 71gr JHP (905fps/128ft-lbs). No problems
2. Winchester JSWC (905/129). No problems - surprised me
3. Federal 65gr hydra-shock JHP. Steel case; 2 fail to feed
4. Magtech 71gr JRN (905/129). 2 rounds double taps
5. PPU 71gr JRN (905/128). No problems
6. PMC Bronze 71gr FMJ (900/126). 2 mis-feeds, AND 2 double taps
7. Blazer 71gr JRN steel case (900/128). 5 mis-feeds, AND 2 double taps

nice day to get out and shoot. this thread reminds me that I need to pick up another case of 32. I have been liking the fiocci Ive been able to get through targetsportusa. I usually use ball ammo. have had some fail to feeds with jhp's. only 32 I have is my vz61 skorpion. very fun gun especially with such a small caliber in a heavy pistol design

I’ve usually get Remington 71gr JRN for target practice as the Winchester is JSWC.
