I got an m&p 9c in a trade. Previous owner was LEO and had 12rd mags for it, so I got the firearm with no mags. Well I installed the apex hard sear and wanted to test it. I threw in a Beretta 92f mag to trip the mag safety. Then I realized, its pretty damn snug in there. No real wiggle at all. So I painted the corner with a sharpie, and saw where the mag catch stopped on the mag. I took it out, an filed where the mark stopped. It ended up being 1.27" from the top of the magazine (ymmv). It feeds perfectly fine, but like most it doesn't lock the slide back.

I haven't had a chance to test this since I just did it this morning. But I figured I'd put it out there in case someone else wants to give it a try. Would make a good range mag, but I wouldn't carry with it.

Try a sig 226/229 mag. Locked in and functioned for a whole mag. No malfunctions. Slide didnt lock on empty, but who cares! Havent gotten a chance for more rounds, only ran one mag through.

So you fired with the Sig mag? I've read that the Sig mags function check fine, but I haven't heard of anyone actually firing rounds with one. Good info, thanks.
