Pre ban p228 magazines and p229-1 magazines

Hi,

So I'm in Mass and just got myself a new p229 that uses the p229-1 magazines, would the p228/p229 pre ban magazines still work? I've read different stuff so just wondering if I should spend my money on the pre bans?

I guess I did not phrase is the right way hehe, I meant would it be a waste of money to buy them and they won't end up working... anyways they should work just as well as the new p229 ones right?
