With New York no longer sucking up sales of Preban AR lowers one would expect prices to come down ... I hope. There's no way a 20+ year old receiver should be worth 1000 unless it's a collectible.
Or am I wrong on one or both of those thoughts?

Pre-1994 receivers shouldn't be going up in price period. If my understanding is correct the NY market can no longer purchase them, so that should remove one of the handful of states where they have any value at all.

well they still have value in other states like MA with bans in place... They've only eliminated one state from the market - and that is assuming NY gun owners even comply. If they don;t register - how would the state even prove what was possessed before the ban? They couldn't...

The price is all over the place. 600 for a low to the sky for high.

Some poor soul just sold a complete preban rifle on NES last week for $1,000. He could of got $500 more for that at a minimum.

I'll be selling my Colt lower when I move, I hope to get around 700-800 for it as a complete lower with new anodizing on it.

I have several preban rifles. When I move to NH i'm not sure i'll part with them though... Even though they probably could fetch tall coin.. you just never know. If I were to return some day I may be glad I kept them...

Yea but what you buy in NH when you live there will be legal when (if) you move back to mass. I'd sell and fetch the coin.

No, it won't., not in the case of a preban WRT evil features vs a postban with the same. Postban would have to be neutered to remain complaint if he ever made the mistake of moving back here, that is, of course assuming he even cared.

I am 75% sure what you buy when you live out of state is legal when you move here. That's how I was told I could get an XDm.

That is correct. The only problem is finding 10rd XDm mags (if it's 9mm).

Woops, I didn't know you were referring to rifles. No, in order to comply with our AWB, it must be compliant unless the rifle is pre-ban.

Handgun compliance and rifle/shotgun AWB compliace = two different legal ballgames, not even close to one another, not even in the same league. Do not compare the two.

For every New Yorker giving up an AR, there's a dozen speculators out there snatching them up for ridiculous prices.

Normal AR prices will subside once it becomes clear to everyone that a national AWB won't pass the House, but prebans won't drop.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.
If i buy a pre ban lower from someone(i'm in MA). Since it's a pre ban, am i able to put ANY type of Upper(with flash hider, etc) on it?

Please forgive the slight direction change. I am a little confused by all the "Preban" talk. The '94 crime bill made having more than 2 "military like" features on an AR bad, along with no new 10+ round mags, among other things. So, anything made before then was grandfathered, and could still be owned. Now, since that thing has long expired, and nothing new has come up yet, (on the federal level), wouldn't anything "Post ban" now be legal? Why would you still seek out a pre '94 lower, or anything else? Just buy new stuff, and hope it gets grandfathered also in the next, if any, ban.......

When you hear this talk, is it just referring to Mass, Cali, & NY, who are really still uptight about such things?

Have they started making pre '94 AWB receivers again? And nobody told me?

It is not as if all friggin hell has broken loose and everybody is buying up everything..

It is going to be a while and quite a few fed and states bills shot down before they start going down much.. IMO

True for handguns even if not on the lab tested list or disapproved by the AG's consumer protection regulations. Not true of post 1994 guns that meet the AW definition or > 10 round mags that are not pre-ban.
