I know someone who is looking to sell this Ruger MK II that's been sitting in a safe for the past 10yrs and I'm trying to help determine a fair market price for it. Full Disclosure: I may also be interested in buying it myself to go with the tapered barrel model I currently have. Anyway, it's kitted out for Bullseye shooting with an old AimPoint 2000 red dot, some form of add-on comp, a few mags, and a few sets of grips including a wooden with rest. I have no info on round count and haven't seen the interior condition of the barrel, and no idea if it's had any internal work done like a Volquartsen trigger or similar enhancement; I'm waiting to hear back on that now.

So what's the concensus (sp?)....if you tripped over this in a local shop case what would you expect the price tag to read?

gun shop price and FTF price are vry different in my opinion. Some fudd in a store would sit on that for $$$$ for years. But to sell it within a reasonable time period I think around $300 is probably a ballpark price for the pistol without the sight. Old technology like that Aimpoint is probably worth about $1 to me. Your millage may vary.

but do your own search!

Thanks guys. I have already done a full inventory of gunbroker so I know those prices as well as a few other spots around the innerwebs. I checked a few local shop websites but there aren't a lot of Mk IIs listed, and I don't have time to tour around the region looking for some...especially for a gun I'm only half interested in (probably rather put a pac-lite upper on my current Mk II), just trying to help out the owner a bit. I posted here because I figured a lot of NESers are in their local shops frequently and everyone HAS to poke around the cases when they're at the shop so I might get more "I've seen one for $xx at yyy shop" type replies...

My shootin' partner just got a 4" tapered bbl Mark II with a scope mount & two mags for $200. Had some holster wear, too, it looked like.

2-3 years back I got my Mark II 5.5" bull barrel w/2 mags for about $250.

That help any?

perzactly the type of stuff I was looking for, thanks dwarven1!

275 ish, give or take 25 bucks

The MK series is not a big money gun, nor is the optic that is on it.

300 if the owner can show you how to take it apart and put it back together as a functioning firearm!

If it has a VQ trigger/sear/hammer or any other upgrades I might pay a bit more than $300 for it, depending on what kind of shape it's in. Interesting brake on that thing.

took mine apart to clean it last week and was amazed that I got it back together on the second try, under 3mins! definitely a new personal best [wink].

$300 was the first number that popped into my head, looks like I was in the right neighborhood. I asked about any internal work but the owner hasn't gotten back to me yet.

that comp/break does indeed look interesting, my concern is that it's held in place by a grub screw that's been torqued to high hades and marred the barrel, haven't seem the gun in person so I don't know.
