well, there's at least one. I thought I emailed Ware, maybe it was Palmer, I'll have to look through the replies I got after I got a taste of humble pie over the MCOPA endorsement.

The commission said that Crevier did so by using his official position and public resources to advocate against, and rally opposition for, the state’s proposed gun reform legislation.

How is this different than what they do every day... but, obviously, with the opposite position?

🖕 (it's hard to see, but this is a "middle finger" fvck you emoji.)

I wonder how many letters they've issued to chiefs and others who advocate for more gun control?
If they utilized official social media channels, using official accounts, I hope they did.

I don't support reprimanding someone espousing their personal beliefs through personal channels regardless of my agreement or disagreement with those beliefs.

They target a guy who's literal job is to abide by the Constitution (oath of office) and see that his constituents are able to live within that framework. What a load of BS from the "Ethics Commission". He's the only one doing the ethical thing by letting the people he works for be knowledgeable about how wrong that bill is! That's not being political, it's doing right by the people in his community & in the Commonwealth.

This is a fair point, and I don't either.

But this chief wasn't "espousing a personal belief." He was engaging in a public dialogue about the necessity for a new statute, from a public safety perspective, and that's precisely the kind of thing a police chief should be doing. Especially when the constitution is on his side.

His department is expected to enforce this law, remember, at a time when his resources are probably already stretched. It's perfectly within his professional responsibility to tell the public if he might not be able to do that.

Bravo Chief....at least someone had some balls. Finally!

Take the "ethics commission" BS and shove it up Mauras ass. Where is the ethics commission on her fxcking state troopers in the backseat, and her partner being a judge.....conflict of interest???.....what a fxcking joke MA is.

Most cops and sheriffs in free states always stand up to shit laws. Someone finally did in MA and gets their PP slapped. I hope the Ware town fathers give him a thumbs up and a middle finger back to the state.

And how is it not a conflict of interest to get Mr. MCOPA up there flaunting his love for the new bill right on camera.....Fxcking Hypocrites much???

It's unethical for a COP to publicly speak out against an unethical and unconstitutional law, but it's just fine for woke elected officials to publicly advocate for every bit of woke ideology.

Got it.

Next up, secret police with their own prisons. I hear they're going to choose brown for their uniform color.

His department is expected to enforce this law,

His department is expected to enforce all laws. Everyone knows no police department anywhere, ever has enforced all the laws they were expected to enforce.

There’s long history of police chiefs deciding to not enforce unconstitutional, distasteful, or stupid laws, and even publicly stating so using official channels.

We also have an example in Mass. of the AG explicitly saying she won’t enforce the law. Everyone remember 7/20/16? I’m pretty sure she used official state resources to make that statement.

And everyone knows about sanctuary cities, right?
