So much common sense thrown out the window in this case. Hopefully many will learn that concealed carry demands a grave responsibility and never to mingle etoh with firearms! I couldn’t think of a worse place to be while hot. Seriously stunning.....

From initial research this doesn't look like a "concealed carry" incident at all, so the piety about "not drinking and carrying" hyperbole/BS or any of that stuff doesn't really apply here.

Not to mention, it's difficult to tell from any articles about this as to whether or not the dead guy was even intoxicated.

IMO after a cursory look at this, it would appear that "A bunch of bad things tolerance stacked in the wrong direction" which resulted in an obvious bad outcome. When kopsch show up and see a bunch of people
fighting, there are no "good guys" there's just a bunch of people fighting. A gun comes out and all hell is going to break loose...

If simply having a gun is good enough justification to shoot someone, then shooting every cop you see, because they have guns, would be justified. Or maybe it's not justification and incompetent trigger happy cops who are scared of shadows killed this guy unjustly.

If they should have shot anybody it's the first guy who says "he pulled a gun on us" and then proceeds to kick someone who's down. Or they could have directed their attention to the guys fighting and instigating and not the guy who was doing the opposite. The cop threw him to the ground, causing the gun to fall, and when he picks it up, still in the holster, and is walking away, him and his partner shoot him dead. Heroes.

There’s no telling whether Mr. Washington was inebriated or not though at 2 am? He surely was. As such he possibly didn’t know that the psu cops were carrying. Nonetheless to pick it up and walk away is a bad move with nervous college cops who are armed and itchy on your backside.

And Mike, I do not assume this to be a concealed carry issue in regards to Mr. Washington (in report it says he had a firearm as well Andy if that’s true he is just as responsible in part for his own demise) but it goes without saying that the LTC individual (Wilkenson) who was knocked out should not have had a firearm in a drunken brawl in the early morning hours. He lost it during the shod foot event so the evidence points to him as a contributing source to the death of his friend. I think the piety stance is moot. If someone wants to test the boundaries then more power to them. No good guys here is right.....
