Public pistol range in Dallas/FW area?

Looks like I may have to make a few trips to the Dallas/FW area over the next couple of months. It would be a couple of days here and there, and probably not worth trying to become a member anywhere.

I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with any public ranges in that area, and if one would recommend finding one that rents vs. taking mine with me. I've never traveled via air with a handgun, so any experiences with that would be helpful also. Id be flying out of Logan.

It's Texas, so I'm going to assume traveling with a handgun in a carsafe will be fine, but I'm checking that out as well.
