I've got a H&R Topper 12 gauge (as seen in Build It Yourself section) and I'm contemplating cutting down the barrel. I'll be shooting rifled slugs, and I'm wondering if accuracy will be negatively affected if I cut the barrel from 24" to either 20" or 18.5"

Is accuracy going to be affected at all?

I get 2.75 in three shot groups at 25 yds with my 1100 and it has a 21 in slug barrel.

I'm going to put a scope on it, and the barrel I have has a blade front sight. I was going to cut the barrel down to get rid of the sight and to make the gun shorter to be easier to handle in the woods. Its a cheap project, so why not?

It will handle fine in the woods and you will never notice the blade sight in the scope. The toppers are very accurate guns and the barrels are designed that length for a reason. Dont mess with it, it is more trouble than it is worth.
