First off I need to say that I live in Michigan and I have not studied the gun laws in the Northeast like I have in Michigan.

I found a Glock 29 for sale near me and it was listed as a Gen 3 Glock 29.
I knew that was not true because it had no accessory rail.
So I checked the SN on the Glock Serial Number Research Project:
http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=412093

Well the first 3 letters in the SN are CKT so it turns out it is from 1997 ( CKT - G-29 - August 1997 - 2.5 Gen )

It is in great shape and I was told only has 200 rounds through it and it looks it.
I traded my Gen 3 Glock 30 for it on Saturday.

Ok my questions:

Is this Glock worth more in some of the Northeast states. I read online somewhere that Glock 29's made before 1998 were worth $600-$700 in Massachusetts.

I also have a Gen 1, Glock 20 Fifteen round mag and I see them for sale on Gunbroker for $50+ are they hard to come by in the Northeast? Do you guys have to pay that much for one?

The reason I ask is I am about to customize this Glock 29 like I do all of my Glock's
I want to put all of the extended controls on it and night sights and maybe some other modifications that will make it far from "stock".

If this gun is worth more and hard to get in your area and I can sell it to one of you guys for the cost of a new one in my area I would rather add another gun to one of the Northeast states and have a new Gen 3 Glock 29 to put all of my extra crap on.[smile]

Is this something worth looking into?

Used Glock 29's are not that easy to come by locally where I live. People just don't seem to sell them very often however I can order a new one all day long.

Here is one, without the laser he is asking $625

Thank you.

If it was made before 10/21/98 then it can be transferred into MA. I would call Glock to be 100% sure that the date of manufacture is 1997.

The prices are high in Mass. because people are farouking each other. The guns and mags are hard to come by in Mass. because of the stupid laws. I know first hand how hard it can be to find things you want in Mass., do the right thing and sell them for cheap to a Mass. gunowner.

My intention is not to screw someone in Mass.
I really wanted a 10mm Glock so I traded for this one, however what I really wanted is a Gen 3 Glock 29SF.

I am not really looking to sell it, I just got it and have not even fired it yet. The issue is that I don't want to start upgrading parts on a gun that is valuable to people in Mass and in turn make it non-transferable to the people in Mass in the future. Whatever Glock 29 I end up with I will be keeping for a long time and if I keep this one it will be one less Glock 29 available to people in Mass.

I am not looking to make ONE DIME on it. I have MANY handguns and the Glock 29 is one I plan to keep for a long time. I would take a even trade, gun for gun if someone in Mass found a GEN 3, Glock 29SF or Glock 29 in new or like new condition online, I would trade you my Glock 29 even up for it. I don't care if you paid $400 for the GEN 3 I will still trade you as long as it is in great shape. I will even include the 15 round Gen 1 mag because it has no extra value to me and I can buy a new Gen3 15 round for $23.

About the Gen 1 mag. It has a +2 floor plate on it making it a 17 round mag. Would the floor plate have to be changed before it could be shipped to Mass.?

If nobody is interested, I will just keep this one and upgrade all of the stuff on it keep it. Like I said I am not looking for cash or to make money on it.

By "Gen 1" I'm assuming you're referring to a NFML mag, right? All of those are pre-ban, so if it's one of them, the +2 floorplate is perfectly legal for someone licensed in Mass. to possess or carry.

Sorry if I got the wrong idea. Having been there done that trying to find guns rare to the Mass. market, I get particularly irritated when people don't help one another out, but it looks like you're trying to. This area of the website doesn't get much traffic. Go green and post a Want To Trade ad in the classifieds, I'm sure there's a handful of people who'd take the deal you're offering.
