Well, yeah. But that hardly makes it ineffective. On the contrary: I think that's a point in its favor.

Cheap? Effective? Simple to maintain on the go? Kills by the thousands? Dead-nuts reliable? I don't see the downside, personally. I've had more AR jams than AK jams over the course of my shooting life by an exponential amount.
