Questions re Colt SAA - picture heavy

In order to help a friend putting this baby to the market (in Germany) I need to tap the knowledge of this fine community.
As I have no clue of SAA's (yet), I'd like to know of which generation and approx. year of manufacture this gun is.
The serial is SA20997 if that's of any help. Thank you!

Looks like it is from 1979 or later.

That number puts it in the 1978 era.

I just found it to be a 1979 per R.L. Wilson's "Colt - an American Legend".
So would this be a Gen. II or III?

I have one just like it. Last time I looked they were going for around 2500.

I had one in the 29000, and it was made in 1979 that is why I thought it would be a 1978.
