Does anyone know if this is a feasible thing to do?
i was trying to learn if I could raise bugs as part of a survival food supply?
thanks

Termites? [shocked] 5:30 in the video. Bear Grylls knows a bit about that topic.

about 90 countries of the world rely on insects and worms as a food source. if the fecal mater does ever hit the rotating oscillator be prepared to eat anything to survive to rule it out is foolish.

Yeah - I could see that in a desperate 'eat-it-or-die' situation. But to plan now to raise them for long term use - there are many other options. But if he wants to eat 'em - go to town [smile]

Wow I would have thought the guys on here had a tougher stomach. I would have no problem raising them. You would have to look into the high protein insects like crickets. The don't offer much nutrition but when mixed with other things they become more beneficial. Clean food source and keeping cricket waste away from the food colony would be a must

This reminds me. My SHTF medicine box needs something for stomach parasite infections.

Maine lobsters are called bugs by those who catch them.

Some years ago I saw a photo essay about a guy raising catfish and earthworms in oil drums. Feed the worms table scraps , feed the worms to the catfish , eat the catfish. He failed once or twice and was still working out the cycle as it evolved , but it seemed like a possible good idea.

One would need to do the project indoors , cellar maybe ? , here in New England.
