I've been lax about range time lately, maybe twice in the last year. Have always gone to AFS to shoot my Sig P226 9mm since i got my LTC. I do sometimes feel odd at that place, as if there are too many yokels in the lanes.

So now I am (1) looking to put more practice time in with my Sig and (2) pick up a long gun. Haven't made any decisions on the long gun. I don't hunt. Would probably enjoy skeet or trap shooting. Would also enjoy longer range outdoor target shooting. So maybe a lever gun. ARs seem too scarce, although my brother in law is willing to build me one.

I'm on the Wrentham side of Franklin. Bellingham Sportsmans Club is close, but I can't find any info and they may be fishing oriented. I've got too little free time as it is, so close distance and a minimal social/work commitment are preferred. Any suggestions that might be a good fit for location and needs?

Was wondering about Walpole, it is closest. Heard Mansfield is still under repair. Hear great things about Hopkinton. How are they for minor commitments?

Angle tree in N.attle is an open club that has both trap/skeet, indoor/outdoor range.
it is right down the street fraom AFS

Hmm. That could be a good option too. I'm looking into picking up a shotgun now.

Shotgun you say? Well Hopkinton has a new trap field and 2 skeet fields that are fully lit. (We shoot Tuesday evenings under the lights) We also have an eight station Sporting Clays course and 5-Stand Sporting Clays. 100 and 200 yard rifle range. Five pistol/plinking pits with two plate racks and a dueling tree permanently set up for members' use.

Not to mention a Stocked fishing pond and a 24x7 card-key access six position 50' indoor heated pistol range. See Hopkinton Sportsmen's Association: Home for details.
I or another member of the B.O.D. will be happy to show you around some time if you wish.

Mansfield's club house and indoor range are still being rebuilt, but the 50 + 100 outdoor ranges are up and running.
Wrentham shoots trap on Thurs + Sun, has outdoor pistol and archery, but the rifle range is only 50 yards.

Thanks guys. Seems I have three pretty solid options with Hopkinton, Walpole and Angle Tree. Medfield is probably too far. I've just been a pistol shooter, so AFS worked for that. But Trap and Skeet have some strong appeal and I'm looking to pick up a lever gun too and need a rifle range. Haven't shot a shotgun since I was 12 or so.

Nice club. Great clays shooting.

I shoot there on weekends. Come by and check it out. Public can shoot 12-4 on the trap, skeet and 5 stand fields.
