TackDriver, I really have to disagree with your assessment of Reading R & R. Yes, it takes time to join the Club. Yes, You have to be patient. No, The club does not care about just taking your money. No, the Club takes all members...not just "serious shooters". Yes, they have an active rifle match schedule on weekends, but there's plenty of time to work around that.
Please name what other Ranges, That have dedicated 600 Yd Ranges without shooting over 300 and 200? No Private Clubs that I know of? Reading has a true across the course range set -up. How do you think it doesn't meet your requirements? BTW, if you want to shoot at 600 and there is somebody shooting at 200 or 300....there is a process to follow, so that you can get your 600 shooting in. At the new member orientation, that process would be explained.
Often in today's society We expect instant satisfaction. Topics involving "GUNS" often don't give that satisfaction, Too Bad, thats the way it is in Massachusetts.
Perhaps, Reading mishandled your application process? Maybe, you should have stuck with it? Many members "Sucked- it up" and dealt with the process and are now shooting 200, 300 and 600 Yds...20 minutes from Boston.
Good luck with Harvard. They have a nice Club. They don't have 600 yds though.
JasonS, MRA is a nice club, they don't have 600 either.
JasonS, PM Me, I'll get you into Reading Rifle, just be willing to "Suck-it up" thru the Application process (it takes a little time..as noted above).
