Any recommendations for a sight pusher that doesn't cost a fortune but isn't a piece of junk either? I wouldn't use it that often, but would like something durable that won't scratch metal components. Ideally something under $175.

I have one of the original from Hillwig Tool before they went to an exclusive distributor (The Glock Store). This thing is built to handle those extremely tight sights such as those on the Springfield XD’s. It’s built strong and reasonably priced, about $180.

Will any of these work on the front sight on a rifle barrel? Most look like they are meant to work on a detached pistol slide.

Come chasing a sight back and forth with a depth gauge, punch and hammer is a world of fun.
It's a bit better with the sight mover/pusher... Can still be a pain in the ass though. Need to get a better depth gauge than what I've been using (not a real one). It's high on my list of things to get soon.

would be way better to buy an adjustable rear sight, if gun allows it. those in the back of cz shadows are perfect.

Adjustable sights are great
But they are expensive and much more fragile than a basic sight.
Some day I'll break down and invest in a sight pusher.
Until then it's measure, tap, measure tap.

I have the Wheeler Armorer's Handgun Sight Tool. This is a "universal" sight tool. I have used it on 1911s, M&P full size, M&P shield and PPK. It is a quality tool and is within your price range. Unfortunately it seems they do not make the specific model that I have anymore.
