My glock 23 has some years on it and is still one of my favorit. I wanted to know if any one has sent theres to glock to be referb and how much it cost and how long it took.
Do you recommend shipping to Glock through FFL or can you send via FEDEX or UPS with insurance for return to private address? For insurance, do you identify as "machine parts" or firearm?

If you use Fedex or UPS you have to (by federal law) declare it as a firearm. This will cost $35+ typically, as the guns have to go via overnight or 2nd day, I think.
Sometimes using an FFL is cheaper because they can send the gun out via priority mail, which costs a lot less. Normal joes can't send a handgun through the postal service, but Type-01 FFLs can.
For $100 they refurbed an entire G21 first Generation and re did the finish on the slide. They lost my box so they sent me three new mags as well. Best $100 I ever spent!
Sweet thanks for the answers. My glock is a 2nd gen glock made in 1996 so it has some were. I be calling them affter the holiday and then be shiping it out.
I had my G22 and G27 done by Glock for FREE in 2008. I don't know if they still do this for free or not but give them a call at (770)432-1202. I shipped if FedEX overnight (about $40.0) and they had it back to me in 10 days on their dime. They replace about 11 parts and test fired both.
I then sent them 9 or 10 mags. and they rebuilt them free also.
