This is the third in an 11 gun series of Colts. One from each decade built in the style and manner of the period using an original gun from the period. This is the 60's. An NRA Bullseye style Colt. The slide and frame were peened and lapped. the Colt NM barrel was welded up and refit. A NM bushing cut. The front strap and MSH hand stippled. The BoMar sight and rib are first generation. The trigger is a first generation Videcki. Grips are Herrett's. The hammer is a Colt wide spur which was older but popular for the period. The finish is Colt factory style blue. The grips were stripped of the high gloss urethane and black paint lines and refinished semi glass with Renaissance wax. Each pistol has a custom case by Glenn Dean.

Yes it shoots very well, 2 inches, ten shots at 50 yards. Now on to the 80's.
In process shots of the project are posted on my FB page.

wow...just wow! and that bomar rib, you don't see 'em any more. i'm old enough to remember when they were the norm at matches. i bet she runs like a champ. nice.

Your work is always art work, but I have to say that the historical recreation aspect here elevates this a level. I can't wait to see the other decades.

Wow. Simply beautiful work. And I really appreciate the history lesson. I did not know they were running BoMar sights in the 60's.
Outstanding.
