Hey Guys, I've been thinking about picking up a shotgun for a while and after I finally settled on buying this Remmington 870 Tactical Grey,

Pump Action Shotgun - Model 870 Express Tactical Grey - Remington Shotguns

I saw that it was discontinued... [sad]

It looks like the only other model that is the same is this one, which is the same but has ghost ring sights installed...

Pump Action Shotgun - Model 870 Express Tactical - Remington Shotguns

Is it possible to take this shotgun and put the bead sight on it, or would it be cheaper to buy the lower model tactical shotgun and add the extended tube and tactical choke?

the question is why do you want the bead on a tactical shotgun? having used both the sights are way more useful

My plans for the shotgun was for it to primarily be a HD tactical shotgun, but also with the potential to buy another barrel to put on it if I ever wanted to get into trap or skeet, without buying a new gun. With that in mind I see the bead sight as the better option, what do you think?

If you're shooting trap, you do not look at the sight - conversely, I've seen a shottie with rifle sights used quite successfully on clays.

You look past the sight(s) at the target.

Don't over-think it. If you get a HD gun, and add a Trap barrel, a ghost ring should not be that much of a "problem,"....to be honest, I've been thinking that I should install a rear "tunnel" to help me keep my damned head down! [laugh]

Bead for an HD shotgun is perfectly fine.

This. I don't know about your living situation, but my home is not big enough where a bead would be inadequate
