There is no liberal emotion, it was just a dumb idea created by some Glock engineer that was trying to take a shortcut in concert with some marketing types and it got out of hand. It's literally that simple. Lol... 45 gap was a hackneyed idea to begin with.
Also I don't understand "easier to shoot" considering its functionally not much different ballistically than .45 ACP. It's basically "kinda plus P" but not by leaps and bounds. Physics is not your strong suit apparently. It probably feels like slightly hotter 45 on a good day, but even that's subjective. You can get +P velocities in some cases without even being in +P pressure zones. (Win Ranger and some other ammo is like this. )
This idea was stupid and there is no alternative universe in which it would be considered a great idea.
I mean believe in gun hipsterism if you want, but it never works out in reality.
I'll even go there.... .45 GAP was even an exponentially dumber idea than .40 S&W was.
At least the .40 people were in the darkness of wound ballistics science at the time it was created.
Ironically the best thing about .45 GAP is it ultimately drove manufacturers to come out with more .45 ACP handguns and put them on a diet, so there is that.... It DID start a discussion, even though the cartridge was shit, it started a trend towards developing newer .45 ACP handguns in a variety of form factors. Glock probably, in hindsight likely didnt regret it because of the .45 ACP sales in guns like the 30SF/21SF that followed it some time later....
