It is worthwhile to differentiate between copper plated and copper jacketed.Plated - A very thin coating that can be scraped to lead with a pocked knife, generally applied as a copper wash. The copper covers all surfaces of the bullet. You can spot this because you can see the underlying texture of the lead through the copper. Blazer brass cased so-called "jacketed" ammo is actually copper plated.Jacketed - A thicker layer of copper generally swadged over the bullet. There is less than 100% coverage of the copper - you generally see either an exposed lead base; a hollow point with visible lead in the center, or a lead tip. Zero bullets are jacketed, not plated. You can't easily get to the lead by scratching this with a pocket knife, and the lead surface is smooth, not following the fine texture of the lead underneath.Plated is generally priced between plain lead and jacketed.
