Attention rifle shooters who want to learn 4-position marksmanship! Maynard Rod & Gun Club is hosting a special 1-day Basic Rifle Marksmanship Clinic on Saturday, November 10th from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m..
Topics covered:
· Safe rifle handling
· Prone position
· Sitting position
· Kneeling position
· Offhand (standing) position
· The sling as a marksmanship aid
· Shooting fundamentals: 3 pillars of rifle marksmanship
· Proper sight adjustments
· Essentially everything you can learn about rifle shooting in only 1 day!
Shooters should bring:
· A teachable attitude
· Eye and ear protection
· Rifle (see below for details)
· Approximately 400 rounds of ammunition
· Weather-appropriate and comfortable clothing
· Shooting mat
It is also suggested that you bring:
· Water, snacks, and a lunch
· Folding chair
· Folding card table
· Ballcap with brim
Rifles are suggested to be .22LR, semi-auto, iron sights, with (4) 10 round magazines, and a sling. Also OK are centerfire rifles, bolt and lever actions, and scopes. Rifles chambered in .17HMR are NOT allowed. Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 rifles will ONLY be allowed upon inspection of rifle (make sure rifle is thoroughly cleaned) AND ammunition by the instructor.
NRA, Safariland and Project Appleseed instructor Dan Kingan will lead the class. His collaboration with Maynard Rod & Gun Club has resulted in special one-time-only pricing. Tuition is just $25 for members of the public and $10 for Maynard Rod & Gun Club members.
