RKBA/Prepper HAM Nets?

Here's a prepper net: Sundays at 9:00pm eastern time

It's on 7.242MHz. I forget where it's based out of but with down in my hole with a simple wire antenna I've had trouble hearing it.
EDIT: it's booming in on 7.243 right now (10:00pm).

I really need to get my home rig set up. I just need to buy cables to run out to the 30' mast and between the radio and tuner. I'm so lazy about it.

Do you think I would be able to get this on my Yaeso FT-60?

It's on the 40 meter HF band and the FT-60 only does 2 meters and 70 cm. You could certainly listen in with a short wave radio.
Any recommended short wave radio brand/model? Perhaps something one could get on Amazon?
