Anyone here have any experience with either ar style stocks or bullpup for the 10-22. I just bought a 10-22 and want to modify it for something a bit different. I have been looking at the ATI, Tapco, and Archangel stocks that all look nice but I have seen mixed reviews. Also have been considering a bullpup kit as well. one of my main concerns is to keep the accuracy of the 10-22 and keep the ease of cleaning. Any imput would be helpful. Other brand names I have missed will also be helpful.

I just got the archangel ar style stock yesterday, looks bad-ass and rails everywhere for scope, handle ect. will be a pain to break down and clean now, no longer just 1 screw.

I was looking at those they look really nice. Im considering one of those or mabe the troy system and possibly the hightower bullpup. But im not sure what it takes to break that down. I dont want to end up in a position like a was with my mossberg 715t with 16 screws to take down just to clean (One of the many issues that was the least favorite rifle i've ever owned). All the reviews I read on the Archangel seem top be very positive im looking forward to hear how the first trip to the range goes!

Not really tactical but recently tried a members set up with the tech sights and this *NEW!* Terminator Ruger 10/22 Laminated Thumbhole Stock. Very comfortable. Only down side was stock was a little long for me and I could not get right up behind the peep sight. Fun gun. I sold off my 10/22s before the tactical craze. The big hadoo in my day was the M1 carbine stock.
I have mixed feelings about the 10/22. I always come back to. I rather spend 200$ or more on ammo first. After 3k rounds if it proves to be a good shooter I may make it look better.

went shooting today and it was flawless, sighted in the scope and hit the mark every shot, the wife even shot it perfect. a little more work to clean but thats what a couple beers are for when you get home.[smile]

not bad couple screws on front and couple more on top rail, then its back to the way it was, I just wonder how many times you can r+r the screws going into plastic before they wear out and get loose, time will tell i guess

the 10/22 is a fantastic rifle. My wife and I just sent about 1000 rounds downrange out of 2 of them today at the Harvard Appleseed today.

But tarted up in tactical gear, a 10/22 is just stupid.

If you want a tactical style .22, just get yourself a M&P 15/22 and be done with it. The M&P is simply the best pistol gripped "tactical" style .22 out there. They are reasonably accurate and very reliable. Plus they function EXACTLY like a real AR, which is more than can be said for an Umarex/colt, 10/22, or Mossberg.

I saw a used M&P 15/22 at Collectors this week for $350.

Properly cleaning the barrel on a 10/22 is a pain in the butt. You actually need to remove the barreled action from the stock, then remove the barrel to clean it from the chamber end.

Many 10/22 shooters, myself included have drilled a hole in the rear of the receiver so you don't have to remove the bbl to clean from the back. Then you just have to remove it from the stock, which is only 1 screw.

The M&P 15/22 is a breeze to clean just like an AR. Pop the back pin, remove the bolt and clean it from the back.

If your still looking for a bullpup I would recommend the High Tower Armory one. Been looking at getting one once they make a deflector for lefties.

But if you want a fun gun I just picked up the Beretta ARX 160 22lr and it is an awesome gun.
