This is a brand new rifle that I just picked up. It has about three hundred rounds through it so far. I'm using Federal high velocity. It's been jamming at least once and sometimes more every mag. The spent round doesn't eject and jams in the bolt. A few times I needed tools to clear it. I thought that this was a reliable gun based on research. So far....not so much

Even though it's a brand-new gun, and it'll chafe your ass to have to do this, replace the extractor with a Volquartsen Exact-Edge.

Also, make sure you keep the gun well-lubricated. I tend to hose my Rugers (10-22 and Mk3) down with CLP.

Regular version or Stainless?

Ruger coats the aluminum receiver with a powder coat. I read that that can also cause issues.

IMO, it sound like shitty ammo.

i use only CCI Mini Mags and CCI Standard Velocy lead nose in my .22's.... if i get ONE, FTF/FTE in a 200 to 400 round outing, i know it's due for a cleaning... the mini mags are coated with wax...

i'll have to look into the extractor as well... [thumbsup]

Extractor for sure and make sure your chamber is clean. Extractor should come with a new spring also. If you feel comfortable playing with the internals get the match trigger and sear when you do the extractor and you will feel quite a difference in trigger break.
