** Prop to Carl @ FS again. I was able to secure another firearm, a ruger 10/22 TD **

It was a nice sunny day so I took my newly acquired Ruger 10/22 TD out to the range.

Range : MRA Mclaughlin range (outdoor 50 yards)
Condition : 53 F with some gust wind
Ammo : Winchester Thunderbolt and CCI blazer .22lr
Round fired : 150+
Problem : none
Shooting position : standing offhand and benchrest on rifle rest.

As expected, ruger 10/22 rifle is very reliable. It will take any cheapo .22lr ammo. I have no problem with the rifle. The only problem is the rifle sight slightly off to the upper left. Will need to adjust the sight blade and drift the front sight. But with correct compensation, I try to do some group shooting. This 2 @ 10 shots grouping from 50 yards benchrest (I reused existing target left by other member).

Here is some Cons and Pros of the rifle.

Pros:
1. Breakdown design. Very easy to break down. To breakdown, hold bolt open, push the interlock and twist the barrel. To assembly, lined up the barrel channel and twist to lock the barrel in place.
2. Reliability.
3. Pre-ban magazine available
4. Come with a carrying pack.

Cons:
1. Higher price. MSRP $389.00

Nice writeup! Been waiting for somebody to give a range report on this.

Im jealous that youve already managed to secure one of these. Ive been trying to convince myself that I cant afford/dont need a TD model when I already have a dsp, but I dont know how long Im gonna last [laugh]

BTW it looks like youve mixed up the pros and cons list

I think this rifle has moved to the top of my list.

Alfred... next time you go out with it... can you see how the return to zero is? Once it's zeroed... shoot a group... take down the rifle... put it back together... and shoot a group. This is the only thing I'm really concerned about...whether the rifle really returns to zero after dis-assembly and reassembly.

Hanwei, I'll try it on the next range visit.

Looking closely on the photo, I see the front and rear sight located on the barrel. So, my guess the take down action will not affect the accuracy. With stock sight, it stay zeroed all time. But if you swapped the stock sight with scope (installed on the receiver), it is possible the rifle will not return to zero after take down.

Had mine out today also, 150 rounds of CCi mini Mag, perfect, no failures, Sights were a bit high out of the box @ 50 yards. I think this is my new favorite rifle.

I just got one for my birthday 2 months ago, not the TD one of course. I love it. I'm a member at MRA too, I love it. AND your name is Alfred too? What are the odds?!

Good ! Nice range report !! I'll have mine tomorrow! Hopefully some range time with it this weekend! Can't wait haha
