Thought I'd pass this on. A while back I purchased a Ruger 10 mm 1911 love the pistol accurate and built like a tank,my only complaint it throws brass into orbit. So in poking around the various 1911 forums I found out a flat bottom firing pin stop can help reduce the amount that the brass from a 1911 of any caliber will be thrown. So I ordered an fbfps from EGW and had it fitted and installed. Went to the range yesterday and though I put only a few rounds thru the pistol the distance the brass was ejected was cut by a third to half. The part was $15 and $25 to install. If I read some posts correctly the Ruger 10mm uses a 20 lb recoil spring and a 30 lb mainspring and it does take a bit of ommph to rack the slide.
