New release which looks slightly different than the SR9. The loaded chamber indicator is different and the slide serrations/markings have been subtlety changed. Non adjustable 3 dot sights over the SR series' adjustable. No plastic hard case. Blued rather than the SR's black nitride or stainless finish. No magazine loader or spare magazine included. $100 cheaper MSRP. Which considering the loss of features (well maybe for those that hate the giant LCI) and accessories I don't get why anyone would buy this over the SR series.

"The Ruger® 9E™ is the newest addition to the popular SR-Series line of pistols. It features a unique reversible backstrap (flat or arched) that allows shooters to quickly customize the size and feel of the grip, without the use of separate inserts or special tools. It has an integral accessory mounting rail which provides space for mounting lights, lasers and other tactical accessories and a dovetailed, high-visibility 3-dot sight system that features a raked-forward front sight for easy removal from the holster, and a fixed rear sight. The Ruger® 9E™ also features a black, high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame, a visual inspection port that provides confirmation of a loaded or empty chamber, an ambidextrous thumb safety and D-shaped magazine release that are easy to reach and actuate and an alloy steel slide with black oxide finish. The Ruger® 9E™ centerfire pistol features the Essentials - Everything You Need, and Nothing You Don't™."

In some areas this will make ruger more competitive w budget guns.
i am all supportive of reliable but cheap guns because the moonbats want to keep prices high to prevent the poor from being lawfully armed.

Props to ruger for making a cheap SR9 instead of a marble-plated M77 rifle or some other stupid expensive $hit.

If you look at the SR9 and 9E side by side, there isn't a whole lot different between the two, except the slide. And then the accessories. That's why the $100 price tag difference. In Mass, it might be the difference of someone buying an SD9/40 instead of the SR9, now the 9e competes in the budget area.

They should of made a sr45c instead

agree. i love my SR45.
probably an SR45c would only hold like 6 rds but whatever it would still be cool.

why does everyone hate on the LCI so much? i find mag disconnect WAY more annoying.

if the LCI was a feature made by ruger and not mandated by moonbats, i think people would be just fine with it.
personally i really like the SR9 LCI because in a pitch black room i can tell immediately whether it's chambered or not....i'm not advocating trusting the LCI 100% since it's still a mech device, but in a pinch it's better than having no clue.

Yep.

They're smart and know what they're doing.

Seems cool, I don't like the adjustable rear sight anyway. Should be a reliable gun- for $300 bucks? They will sell well.

I'd just as soon grind off the "rail". I always hated how they ugly up a gun.

Like our dicks: loaded when up [rofl]
