Ruger fixed the LC9!

any chance ruger will take my hammer fired lc9 and hand me a striker fired one?? i know their customer service is good... but i doubt that good haha

I just got the email 20 minutes ago.

I never paid attention before. What's the difference to this one, and the other ones?

The original Lc9 was double action only, which resulted in a mile long trigger pull with lots of stack up, the new one is striker fired, so the trigger should be a lot better. Think SR9C

Hopefully the mag disconnect got dropped on the latest release.

Doubt it, but at least it's easy to remove at home.

It's the only "thing" for an LC9:

Are you thinking LCR?

It can't be the LCR, because that's a Double Action revolver.
Makes no sense to me.

But back on topic the LC9s looks promising.

Old LC9: Double Action Only DAO
New LC9s: Striker Fired

I like Lc9 compact size. Never got one because of the aweful trigger.

Hopefully this is promising.

I have the Galloway goodies for mine, just haven't put them in it yet. I need to stop by the LGS, who days they have the new ones inbound already, and see what kind of time frame we're talking. Those parts may just stay in the bag and be extra trade/sale fodder

So, my LGS got a couple in stock, so I went down to check them out. Left the LC9 there, took the LC9S out[smile]

I was headed to the range anyway, so I did a quick clean and oil on the tailgate of my truck, and commenced to break her in.
The trigger is sweet! It still has a good amount of travel, but doesn't seem to creep or stack up before the nice, easy break. I can definitely shoot this a lot better than the old one. It's still a little gun in my Sasquatch hands, but @ 3-5 yards, I wall able to put a full mag in a 4" circle with controlled fire. Moving a little quicker, I was reliable with center mass double taps at 7 yards. I ran about 200 rounds of handloads (124 gr fmj over 4.9 gr Bullseye). This is a snappy load for this pistol, and is more suited to my full sized guns, but I didn't bring any 115 gr. Nonetheless, the gun ran fine, and was just as happy with my carry rounds (124 gr Gold dots).

When I got home, I gave the gun a more thorough cleaning, and put it away. I'll get the wife (it's really her gun) to give it a go sometime in the next week, and since she shot the old one a lot better than I, results should be great. All mags, holsters and other accessories are interchangeable, so no extra stuff to buy, either. With that said, if anybody's looking for the perpetually out of stock Galloway trigger bar, trigger, and spring kit, I've got one for sale here[wink]:

Just got an email from ruger....the LC9s failed to meet state requirements to be MA compliant. No other info was supplied....whatta state......

Unless it failed the tests for thing like being drop safe it should pass. It appears to have the necessary combo of safety's to permit a sub 10lb trigger pull.

I heard ruger hasnt submitted it fo approval. AFAIK if its not submitted, it doesnt get approved.

IMO the LC9s is a nice looking gun but the single stack 9mm market is too competitive to accomodate another 9mm with a thumb safety and mag disconnect.....no thanks.

between the shield, p938 and PPS I just see no place for an LC9s in my world.....and yet i willprobably end up with one at some point because i am a gun whore.
