RUGER LC9 rusted

It went through about 100 rounds. Should I contact Ruger about this?

Yes contact them, I'm pissed at Ruger. I've had like 2 friends have rusty Rugers. Never saw a barrel rust though. Definitely call them. I keep checking my SR9c for rust now. Not happy at all.

Sold my sr22 a few weeks ago because I wasn't looking forward to the inevitable slide down range event. The company is rushing stuff to production with minimal qa. The mantra on the ruger forums has become 'call ruger and ship it back'. I ain't buying my next one from them.

With the humidity as bad as its been this summer, i'm not surprised at rust issues.

I'd like to know if they will put our an official statement or something.

Is this an issue with humidity and storing them, or is this an issue at their casting plants, etc.

I didn't even bother calling Ruger. Just cleaned it off as best as I can and keep it oiled. It's a $360 gun. If it was a Kahr PM9 then maybe I'd be making angry phone calls. Mine was all surface rust though, nothing on the internals or the barrel. I'll get around to having it Cerakoted eventually.
