I noticed this on my LCR while cleaning it, is this normal or is it flash cutting. I have less than 100 rounds thru it. It is at the top directly underneath the flash gap.

Looks pretty bad. I might be able to give you $100.

(It is a machined angle to allow the cylinder clearance at the barrel so it will close. Suspect yours might have been at the outer end of the tolerance, and has just been peened over during normal usage. Or it could be just a high mileage gun that has been closed a million times and loosened up causing the peening. It is cosmetic. If you were a machinist you could file it to a sharper angle and put some Birchwood black on it. Pistol isn't worth sending to gunsmith.)
